Visiting the Gamitana Creek
Par Gunther Dursteler, dimanche 3 juin 2007 à 09:00 :: Peru :: #109 :: rss

For our last day, we are going to the Gamitana Creek for some fishing and walking...

Adeline and Gabita expect not to see spiders today :O)

Right after entering the creek, we saw a black Cayman...unfortunately too late for a picture :O(

During the rainy season, the water can rise up to 6 meters from our current level !!

Anatole Dursteler, the camera guy, being taken in picture :O)

Aaaahh...after Lake Sandoval this is also quite a relaxing place !

I like those messy branches almost floating on the river

Our first stop. Let's go for a 30 minute walk before getting on another smaller boat to start fishing !

Mmmhh, I wouldn't want to be the guy that lost this hat... Only God knows what might be left of him :O)

A spectacular liana growing from ground level to reach the canopy in search of light !

If the previous liana was spectactular, then how do you like this one !

Whoelse takes pictures of me...if not myself :O( :O)

Today, an american couple joined us, so that we couldn't all board on the same small boat...bye FaxMan :O(

I want to fish something ! But the only thing I get is fishes to eat my bait ! :O)

Maud is happy, she didn't fish anything :O)

Hey ! A snake ! But we can't remember its name :O(. Amazing anyway !

Photo Fight ! Who's gonna fire first ! :O)

Our last chance to fish something ! So far only Jose caught something (2 fishes)

Another rest of the rainy season...quite fascinating how strong the water flow can be

Jose is a little bit like Mac Gyver. He's now trying to fix an oar to go a bit faster :O)

Fishing is over, we are now getting close to the end of the trip :O(

It's been a bit frisky today !

Back on the motorboat with Jose

Ahhh finally !! A quite big black Cayman on the shore ! Beautiful beast !

A turtle but this time without butterflies...very well camuflaged by the way...

It's interesting to see how they can carry a tractor using two boats beside each other :O)

Ohhhhhh !!! Another one ! This one's a white Cayman...kind of cute !

End of the trip...snif...snif...and men at work :O)

Paquito ! Fidèle au poste !

Mooouiiinnnnhhh !! :O)

We are leaving tomorrow...a last picture to remember our great stay at Inkaterra !
